"Loving What Is" - An introduction to "The Work" by Byron Katie

“The Work” is a simple yet powerful process of inquiry that teaches you to identify and question thoughts that cause negative core beliefs and build anxiety. “The Work” is a simple set of four questions and then a shift in thinking that clearly shows how attachment to negative thinking causes most of the problems in life. It's a very simple and easily understood way to identify what's hurting you, and to address your problems with clarity. People who do The Work as an ongoing practice report life-changing results: Alleviation of depression, Decreased stress, Improved relationships, Reduced anger, Increased mental clarity, More energy, and More inner peace. Fr. Jack and his team will introduce “The Work” to participants by presenting an overview of the principles and practices involved and a DVD presentation by Byron Katie. Participants will have an opportunity to practice the techniques presented in “The Work” and begin to create plans for implementing these techniques in their daily lives. GREAT AFFIRMATIONS FOR HEALTH AND WHOLENESS

Most individuals live what is called “a normal life.” What if we are called for a greater life? Researchers in the field of Quantum Physics tell us that the quantum field has extremely tiny particles and waves—invisible to the naked eye—that leap from one virtual state into a new one as if the result had been plucked out of this expansive field of potentialities. They also tell us that this leap or shift is greatly affected by the observer. When you give proper attention to certain aspects of your life it holds you in a steady and predictable place. However, when you make a shift—regardless of how minute it is—in your attention you agitate the norm and new “leaps” are made. Breakthroughs in health, peace, wellness, wealth, prosperity, and love are possible by even a slight shift of attention to the norm. Participants are challenged to “shift” their focus so that a quantum breakthrough leap is generated into the new shift of attention through affirmations.

LORD, LET ME SEE AGAIN - Fr. Martin Nyland

8/27/2010 - 8/29/2010

Friday check-in before 7 PM to Sunday lunch

The blind man sitting at the gates of Jericho once saw and longed to “see again.” Intuitively we know that we do not love ourselves as deeply as we would like and once did, perhaps a long time ago. The struggle for self-esteem, inner peace, to truly “see” and love ourselves as God does is, perhaps, a core struggle and longing of the human heart. Blocks of anger, shame, fear, self-judgement and sadness are seemingly impossible to break through. How do these negative emotions impede you from having an authentic, abiding, deep and awesome relationship with your self and with your God? When we soften and release these protective walls and allow God’s abundant grace to flow in, our personal relationship with God can become rich beyond words. Fr. Martin Nyland B.A., M. Div., EFT III, will help you explore the purpose, the challenge, the power and the gift of emotions. Fr. Martin is a top-trained EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) expert and Practitioner. EFT is a widely used healing modality employed worldwide with remarkable success. Join us for discovery, reflection, prayer and group application of EFT for a truly inspiring weekend. Come to experience a much deeper place of emotional freedom and authentic self love so that your friendship with God may be profoundly enriched.
