Easter 2008

Easter brings great joy because Jesus offers us new life and new opportunities to grow.  We at the Mount Carmel Spiritual Centre extend our Easter greetings and are pleased to offer many opportunities this summer to advance in the spiritual life.

Our Catholic saints have great wisdom to share with each and everyone of us.  We invite you to explore the many traditions of prayer and spirituality this summer as exemplified by great spiritual giants.  The saints are steeped in the Carmelite, Jesuit, Franciscan, Cistercian and modern spiritualities.

The Spiritual Centre presents an array of spiritual experiences to help us round out our spiritual lives.  Come and devel more deeply into your spiritual life with the help of wonderful guides.  There will be directed and preached retreats, as well as workshops in icon painting, a healing retreat and other personal growth experiences.

Music at Mount Carmel, in conjunction with the Niagara International Chamber Music Festival, which is celebrating its tenth year of music making, will present various musical programs during the summer.  In the monastic tradition of promoting the arts, on May 4th, besides the Chamber concert entitled Musical Portraits with Atis Bankas, violin, Cecile Desrosiers, harpsichord and Peter Cosbey, cello, local Niagara artists will display their art in the Monastery Dining Room.  Come and drink deep of music and art on a Sunday afternoon.
